Ingredients

  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ c. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbs. butter, room temperature
  • ½ c. chocolate chips
  • ½ c. dates - chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs. flax seed
  • ¼ c. honey
  • 1½ c. oats
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 Tbs. water
  • 2 Tbs. wheat germ
  • ½ c. whole wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degreesSpray two cookie sheets with non-stick spray.Using an electric mixer, cream together butter, sugar, honey, egg and water.In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour through baking soda) and stir together with a wisk
  2. (This is my way of sifting).Stir in oats.Next, add dry ingredients to the wet and stir until moistened.Gently add in the remaining ingredients (dates through wheat germ).Drop by heaping teaspoons onto baking sheet
  3. (I love using a small ice cream scooper for this step.)Bake for 12-15 minutes and cool completely on wire rack before serving.
